Moutard Champagne Brut Cuvee 6 Cepages 2007
A rich, full-bodied style of Champagne that has been aged to our delight, and is drinking very well at the moment. A blend of six varietals, many of which are hardly heard of these days, like Petit Arbanne and Petit Meslier. More importantly, there has been some bottle age to this wine and that makes for a fine companion to meals not just canapés. The base wine was aged in old barrels giving a richness and putting this Champagne in a camp of its own.
Varietal notes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier and Arbane
Vineyard: Sourced from vineyards in in communes of Buxeuil and Polisy in the Côte des Bar, the warmest region of Champagne. The 6 varieties in this wine consituted the traditional blend of the 19th century. The Moutard family continues to cultivate the uncommon varieties of Petit Meslier and Arbane.
